Right now many in the media are pulling their hair out trying to get the latest details in the Chelsea Clinton wedding.  Shopkeepers, innkeepers, local business owners and even residents near the wedding site know more than the media but have been sworn to secrecy.  But this seems to be the way Chelsea Clinton likes it. 

The streets are lined with onlookers wanting to catch the latest glimpse of a supposed celebrity.  Oprah Winfrey has been sighted here, Kobe Bryant spotted there when in actuality nothing has been confirmed.  The secrecy and security around the wedding is true to form when it comes to Chelsea Clinton.  She has gained public support and acclaim over the years as she quietly watched the country dig into her parent’s private lives.  Never one to use the media for self-promotion, Chelsea Clinton has once again taken a major media event and simply kept quiet. 

It is this very quiet demeanor that makes her the true star of her wedding despite the secrecy and speculation.  While other celebrities of lesser prominence have made their wedding a public spectacle Chelsea Clinton has quietly kept her dignity.  This is why she is so well loved and respected and remains an example to young women everywhere.

The details of the ceremony are few and the media is scrambling to get the latest breaking news but what remains at the heart of this story is a girl who is getting married to the boy she loves.  Her wedding is one of the rare instances in American culture where a real life fairy tale wedding catches our attention. 

While the country waits and the paparazzi are held at bay the great thing about this day is that a real life happily-ever-after story is happening to a well deserving girl.

Chelsea Clinton’s wedding is still by and large a closely guarded event. While security is high much of the secrecy is due to Chelsea Clinton herself. Her marriage to Marc Mezvinsky has caused much speculation due to her reluctance to share any details with the press. Chelsea Clinton has been a longtime popular first daughter and is equally loved and respected by much of the world.  Her quiet demeanor and resistance to celebrity have garnered her acclaim and well wishes from both sides of the political aisle.

Her secrecy matches the level of security surrounding the wedding. The streets are crowded in hopes of a celebrity sighting while the Secret Service ensures that security is maintained. Their coordination with State troopers has thus far kept the gawkers in line and the quaint village of Rhinebeck a crowded but peaceful setting for the wedding. The Federal Aviation Administration has enacted a no fly zone over the airspace and state police will keep the Hudson River cleared. Even local business owners in and around the festivities and nearby property owners are enveloped in a cone of silence over the details of the guests and wedding.

Within the village itself speculation has run high on which celebrities and high profile guests have been invited.  Rumors and supposed sightings ranging from Oprah Winfrey to Kobe Bryant have been passed around as residents clamor to be the next to claim they have spotted a celebrity. Yet the real celebrity waiting to be seen is Chelsea herself.  True to form, Chelsea has remained out of the spotlight and has kept an anxious public waiting for details. In many ways Chelsea Clinton’s wedding is one of the rare fairy tale weddings this country gets to experience.

While details slowly trickle out what matters most is that a girl is marrying a boy she loves.  Chelsea Clinton’s privacy is well deserved and a fitting ending to the latest happily-ever-after-story for a much deserving girl.
